I spent last weekend up in blustery-but-gorgeous Seattle for an all day fitness workshop which was super informative — I've already begun integrated some new things I learned with my clients. Training workshops aside, whenever Nick and I are able to make it back up to the Emerald City, we always try to cram in as many adventures as we can. From a date night taking the ferry over to Bainbridge Island for beer and buffalo burgers to a trail run along the beach in the rain, we had a blast. (No orca sighting unfortunately — this time!)

During our rainy trail run along the beach in Discovery Park, Nick snapped a few photos of me sporting my new favorite fleece jacket from The North Face. I know you might think I'm crazy for exercising outdoors in the rain... but when you've lived long enough in the Pacific Northwest you learn to embrace the weather, and eventually even love it!

One of my favorite aspects of getting involved with the fitness industry has been the many interesting people I've recently had the opportunity to meet. Having a background in the creative world certainly has lent itself to being around inspiring folks all the time, but it's been an unexpected delight to find similar camaraderie through an entirely fresh source. Whether its a fellow trainer I can geek out with or conversations with my amazing clients, becoming a personal trainer has opened up a plethora of exciting new relationships in my life.

One prime example? Meet Pointe Studio.

I am incredibly honored (and stoked!) to announce my addition to the Pointe Studio team as the first official Pointe Studio Contributor. Pointe Studio is a boutique athletic brand that makes... socks. Yep, you read that right. Fashionable, loud cushy grip socks that make an entrance in and out of the studio. A relatively newer company, I recently stumbled upon Pointe Studio via (what else?) Instagram. A few conversations and ear-to-ear grins later, the lovely ladies over at this Southern California-based company and I were putting our heads together to brainstorm about how we might collaborate. Let's just say there are many exciting things to come out of this new partnership, but for now, check out an interview with me on their blog.

Needless to say, a fashionable athletic company based out of Orange County (where I'm from) with the tagline "On a mission to be louder than the rest"? I'm hooked. Oh, and their grip socks are just about the comfiest things I've ever put on my feet, and have become a regular part of my daily fitness routine.
